The Vapid Myth of the Thoracic Sling: Why the Masters Got It Right
The term 'thoracic sling' is just a pretentious way to say 'forehand.'
The masters of training—names and institutions you’ll find in the reading list I’ve freely shared for years—clearly outlined how to make the forehand. Their methods aren't guesswork; they're proven, based on reason and centuries of rigorous practice.
It baffles me that most horsepeople bypass this treasure trove of wisdom to chase trends written by today's ‘scientific writers’ who, frankly, believe they know better than Saumur, Warendorf, and Vienna. These writers offer theories that are flashy but vapid when compared to the solid foundations left for us by the masters.
Our job as riders is to explain to our horses how to use and think about their front ends—a task that has been made plain in the masters’ instructions. They fully explained about forehands that are made displaceable and the practical steps to achieve this.
If you're choosing a 'thoracic sling' article over what the masters have already demonstrated, you're essentially flipping them off. You’re not choosing a better way; you’re rejecting the real way in favor of popular pseudo-expertise. Let’s not lose sight of what true riding demands. Which way do you want to ride?
Class 106 covers this. Will you find out about this ?
